There is nothing more important than the safety of our children. That’s why I was concerned when I was alerted to yet another child product recall. This time the product in question involves baby strollers. Maclaren USA Inc is volunteering recalling as many as one million strollers sold in the United States over the past ten years after receiving more than a dozen reports of children’s fingers being amputated when caught in the stroller’s hinges. It took them ten years to issue a recall!?
As consumers we must be careful in choosing the products our children use. A visit to the consumer product safety commission website lists hundreds of products recently recalled. Everything from baby strollers to backyard swings can be found on this site. Although Maclaren USA, Inc is offering consumers a free repair kit, that does little to comfort the parents of the children already injured or maimed.
Models affected by the recall include Volo, Triumph, Quest Sport, Quest Mod, Techno XT, TechnoXLR, Twin Triumph, Twin Techno and Easy Traveler
The strollers, priced from $100 to $360, were sold at stores including Babies “R” Us and Target.
